Umm…when you say you’re not judging you are.

You’re right.

Mmmm… can’t wait to try out your recipe… sounds so good. I have the same weight goals (and am actually the same height/weight as you)… but haven’t started proactively working on losing it. You summed it up perfectly- all food is good, healthy food just takes more effort to plan, and prepare. I’m thinking that’s my down fall with eating well. But your video is inspiring.
(You seem even more comfortable in front of the camera, too.)

Good observation, Karen. I’m not shy about doing the videos but talking to a camera in a room by yourself is just…awkward. I’m trying to get more at ease and more myself while talking to my little Flip.

Still contemplating a flip. As much as I enjoy your weekly video blogs, I also envy them. Not sure I can get in front of a camera like that. But, I am going to try my hardest to get over the insecurities. I commend you for being so open about the weight gain and your goals to lose it. That is inspiring for me to get over some of my issues. So, I guess your blogs are like therapy…free therapy.

I think what you do online should reflect how you are naturally. I’ve never been shy so doing videos isn’t hard for me. Some people communicate better through writing or photography. I think you should pick the medium that feels right for you.

Ok, you and I are SO in sync right now it’s freaky! I am also back on WW.com and doing Couch to 5k as well with a goal to successfully complete a 5K by March.
I wish the DH was as open to food choices as your fam, he is VERY resistant to change and very picky. It’s hard to eat healthy in my house since they are not in to it.

I try to do a combo of things they will definitely like and things that I want to try. Payton calls my new things “interesting food.” I want them to all try it and if they don’t like it, fine. I tried homemade tomato soup today with grilled cheese made with Swiss cheese and apple slices. I liked it all but none of them did. That’s ok because I know they’ll love the fajitas for dinner.

Shannon, good luck with all this, I’m sure you can do it! Four years ago, I joined WW and 6 months later, I hit my goal and earned lifetime membership a few months later. It amazing what a little focused motivation will do for you.
I may dust off my favorite WW Chicken and Spinach Lasagna Recipe…. one piece was 7 pts and VERY filling! Let me know if you want it and I’ll email it along!

I think the most frustrating part is that I have done it before, so many times. I hate being back in this situation again.
I do want that recipe. It sounds delicious.

Hey, Nan. This is my favorite video, so far. You do look cute! And, I agree with Karen. Your personality is definitely coming out more in each video you do. I love that!
I’m proud of you for getting back “on the wagon.” I’ve been where you are, too and know that it can be a struggle at times. I think I finally just had to realize that it was just something I was going to have to deal with for the rest of my life. Obsessing about exercise has been a by product of that, I guess. I think I’ve read it takes 6 weeks before you become addicted to the feeling you get during exercise. Uh, I think I’m there.
I think everyone should get there!
Oh, one last thing… shout out to Casey and I who love cold weather! Woot woot!

HAHA you called yourself a Fatcooker. Funny.
You totally look cute, and I love the chocolate brown. Tell Payton dark-hued nails are “in” if you’re not gothic. Which I’m assuming you’re not.
Good luck on the goals! I like the 1 hour a day of activity. And that chicken basil angel hair dish sounds yum–even if Andy called you out on judging.
I also love how you don’t laugh at what you’re saying, you just pause. Like you’re thinking about how amusing your last sentence was, but you don’t laugh at it. Hilarious.

I love Sass comments.
Payton knows the darker polish is in style but mine is so dark that she thinks it looks black and would therefore be goth. It’s an Essie polish called “Lady Godiva” I think so CLEARLY it’s supposed to look like chocolate. I keep trying to eat them.
You’re right, I do pause because I amuse myself. Andy always says I could live alone because I’d be able to keep myself entertained.

I’ve found the *only* thing that works for me, now that I’m past 40 and my metabolism has slowed, is to do a daily food log/journal. Those calories are there.. staring you right in the face *every* day!!! Gotta get the eating under control first IMHO. Exercise is good, but it will also cause you to become ‘hungrier’ There are a ton of them out there.. I’ve been using myfitnesspal.com as of late, since it lets you input your activity as well as your daily food totals.
Good luck with this! and do stay focused.. “Do or do not.. there is no ‘try’”!

Hi Tim,
That’s sort of the same point as Weight Watchers. You record it and then add up all the points. You get more points for exercising but not enough to always satisfy the extra hunger that comes with exercising.

Just now was able to watch your video. Great goals. Blake and are in a competition for weight loss. I haven’t felt motivated. But, I’m hoping to get there soon. I’d like to lose 20 pounds! 30 would be nice, too.

My ideal weight is 130 as well. It is my 4/6 size. I got up to 143 in Sept.
But I kind of didn’t hear a lot of what you were saying because I was obsessing about your hair. Jealous.

If I was a size 4/6, people would ask me if I was sick. I can’t seem to go below an 8 and still look healthy. I’m jealous of people who can though.
Hair is genetics + Aveda. Only takes me 20 minutes to get ready each day including the shower because it just does all of that on its own. Love it. (btw, I think Casey’s hair would do the same thing as we have very similar hair types)
